Compare like-for-like details.
- Sweep and fit: blade sweep is the diameter of the rotating blades. It does not by itself establish room coverage. Compare the manufacturer’s application guidance with your room and ceiling.
- Air delivery: compare declared airflow using consistent units and operating conditions. A higher rotation speed alone does not prove better room comfort.
- Power and label: check the exact model’s power consumption and current energy-label period. Avoid transferring a rating from an older version.
- Controls: confirm whether the model uses a compatible wall regulator, remote, app or voice control. BLDC does not specify one universal control arrangement.
- Noise: ask for comparable test conditions or a demonstration at the speeds you will use. Marketing words such as “silent” do not establish a noise measurement.
- Finish and construction: distinguish wood-look finishes from actual blade materials. Ask about cleaning and suitability for your environment.
- Warranty: read registration requirements, parts covered, exclusions, labour and service arrangements.
For a running-cost comparison, use the selected speed’s power, your hours of use and your electricity tariff. A more expensive fan is not automatically more efficient or quieter.
Choose features that suit everyday use.
Frequent use
Compare power consumption and delivered airflow together. Balance the purchase price with your likely use rather than a generic savings percentage.
Easy controls
Try the button size, labels and speed changes. Check how the fan behaves after a power cut and what happens if the remote is misplaced.
A considered finish
View the fan with the ceiling, lighting and furniture palette. Confirm material and cleaning requirements instead of choosing by a finish name alone.
Plan installation and future access.
Give the installer the exact model manual and the room information before work starts. Ask them to confirm the support, supplied mounting parts, downrod, clearances, electrical connection and control compatibility.
Use the manufacturer’s care instructions. Isolate power before cleaning; do not use a generic lubrication, dismantling or repainting schedule. If there is unusual wobble, noise, heat or damage, stop using the fan and arrange appropriate service.
Keep the invoice, model details and warranty registration. Leave access to the canopy and controls for servicing.
Model-specific instructions matter. Atomberg’s manual library provides a model-selection route; use the corresponding manufacturer manual for other brands.
Questions before you order.
Is BLDC always the better choice?
Compare the exact models for power, airflow, controls, price and service. The motor category alone does not establish noise, durability or value.
Can I use my existing regulator?
Only if the exact model supports it. Ask the installer to follow the selected fan’s control and wiring instructions.
Is a 1200 mm fan right for every bedroom?
No. Review room dimensions, ceiling conditions, clearances and the manufacturer’s guidance. All listed references happen to be 1200 mm; that is not a universal room-size recommendation.
Do more blades mean more airflow?
Blade count is only one design feature. Compare the complete product’s declared air delivery and performance conditions.
Does a wood finish mean wooden blades?
No. Confirm the actual blade material and finish separately, along with the care instructions.
How should I choose for a low or high ceiling?
Use the selected model’s approved mounting configuration and required clearances. Have the installer assess the room rather than assuming a different downrod or canopy will be suitable.
Will a fan work with my backup supply?
Confirm compatibility with the fan manufacturer and backup-system specification. Do not assume that a motor type or winding material alone guarantees compatibility.
Should I pay more for remote or smart controls?
Choose them if they improve how you use the fan. Try the controls, check any network requirements and ask about replacement remotes and electronics support.
